The light itself seems solid and very well built. The hanging tabs were very sturdy and the finish was excellent. There was a small dent in the transformer casing, that happened during manufacture, but it did not effect the operation of the light. It also came with hanging ratchets, which I didn’t use, as I already had mine in place. It has a full dimmer, not the 3 or 4 presets common on many lights. This is really great, as you don’t need to purchase a controller to get this function.I tested the light at 100% power, and the wattage meter was 1064 watts. There is kind of a PAR map displayed in the pictures on Amazon showing PAR readings of 1600-1700 so I did a few tests to see how much light I was getting. At 12″ with 100% power. I got around 1170. The 4 corners were right around 500, and the sides were in the 640 range. I had to be within 6-7 inches to get readings in the 1600-1700 range. However, the readings I got were consistent across all the light bars, with the light pattern having fairly even distribution. Now those readings are low compared to my 4’x4′. However, keep in mind that this unit has 5400 LED’s and my 4×4 only has 3300 at 760 watts. And I have my setup in the center of a room with 12′ ceilings, not in a reflective grow tent, where most PAR measurements are taken. The temperature of the top of the light bars ran about 131 degrees at 100% power. Which is a lot cooler than my 4X4.Now I did have one issue that concerns me. While raising the light to make adjustments to my Dutch buckets, the light flickered. The cause was a loose power connection. This light uses a standard electronic plug which is convenient, but the weight of the cord when raised about 7 feet, was pulling the plug out from the light socket. It is possible I didn’t get it pushed all the way in, but I would much prefer to have a threaded connection so this can’t happen.I grow fruits and vegetables in an indoor setup, so I don’t need a huge amount of light. And this fixture has plenty for me. But, with a 4’x6′ footprint, I can have a substantial increase my grow area. I think this is a great light at a very good price for what you get. A full dimmer which is so much better than a 3 or 4 position fixed level type. And with 5400 LED’s it far surpasses most 4×6 fixtures. No timer, but that is an inexpensive purchase. I look forward to expanding my setup with this light.
