Description Phaseolus vulgaris Beautiful rosy-pink beans with dark red scribbles. This pinto-type bean makes excellent refried beans and chili. Very attractive and delicious as a fresh shelling bean when the light green pods are blotched with hot pink. Productive, easy to thresh, and early to finish. Original Seed Source: High Mowing. 109 days. Seeds grown by Coyote Smile Farm in Moiese, MT. Available in bulk sizes: A. 1 oz $3.50 B. 4 oz $8.00 C. 1 lb $14.00 Growing tips:  Beans prefer warm soil to germinate, so it’s best to sow when you’ll have a few warm sunny days in a row. Light colored bean seeds are more susceptible to rot in cold wet soil than are dark colored beans, so you can get away with earlier sowing of the black or red bean seed. Season: Direct sow after danger of spring frost, into warm soil. In Montana this is usually late May or June. Germination: Seeds can pop up in just a few days in good conditions, or may take up to a week. Sowing instructions: 1 seed every 4 inches, about an inch deep.  2-3 rows per 4′ bed, or in rows 2′ apart. Vermont Cranberry Organic Bush Dry Bean Seed
